New applications and packages shipped with Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope

May 2nd, 2009

When Ubuntu 9.04 went out last week, we were curious about the differences between the ubuntu 9.04 repository and the ubuntu 8.10 repository. We thought you could be interested too so we setup a page that lists the new applications that got included in the ubuntu 9.04 repository. It only lists the desktop applications and must be considered as “approximative” but it is still interesting to see! Check out what the 128 new applications are here.

allmyapps now supports Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)

March 27th, 2009

jackalope It’s been now a lit bit more than 2 months that we’ve launched allmyapps.com and so far we’re really happy with the feedbacks we get! It seems that more and more people like the allmyapps concept judging by our constantly growing number of visitors (although we did not make a lot of buzz around allmyapps so far…). This is really encouraging for the future and we hope we’ll be able to sustain our current development trend to keep on bringing innovation for the Linux Desktop!

This week we released a new version of allmyapps. What’s new in it? Well, the main new feature is probably the added support for the upcoming Ubuntu 9.04 (aka Jaunty Jackalope). Besides that, we also added the possibility for users to propose their own screenshots for the applications. Screenshots are very important for users in their process of choosing an application so the more screenshot we can propose the more useful it is for users. So do not hesitate to contribute by adding your own screenshots!

In the next release, you will hopefully benefit from more popular third party applications and also get to know more about software Packs and desktop personalization… stay tuned and, as always, your feedbacks are warmly welcome!
